The Spynamics (short for Spinal Dynamics) range has been developed by Albion chairs and Stephen Green, Associate Professor at the British School of Osteopathy.

Spynamics chairs have been designed to ensure each functionally different area of the spine receives optimum support. The chairs can help provide corrective seating for those plagued with existing back problems and be used as preventative seating to avoid potential problems.
These chairs incorporate a pelvic control system, comprising:-

1) A tilting seat which, when angled forward, encourages the pelvis to adopt a neutral position; and

2) A pelvic cushion, which gently holds the pelvis in place. This cushion comes in several sizes or can be further customised if required.

Then, once the pelvis is in its neutral position, the next level of support comes in the lumbar area. This is in the form of a "pyramid of support " provided by an independently-adjustable Schukra mechanism inside the chair backrest (a) , combined with the two pressure points from the pelvic cushion (b).

Memory foam, in the upper chair back, moulds around the thoracic spine. The same foam in the seat, takes the shape of the user's and thighs.

To relieve pressure on the coccyx (tailbone), a small section of foam has been cut away from the back of the seat base.

This type of chair will need to be carefully set up for each individual user. Anyone needing such a chair will have to try it first at one of our shops (by appointment) or in their workplace. (by arrangement).

Thank you for asking about our back care office chairs and/or desks. Buying such products can be a big and difficult decision. We welcome customers talking to us first. This is because we want to give you our best deal and prices can vary according to:

The quantity you need (we often have special offers for one item and generous discounts for large orders).
Your order mix (such as a chair, a desk and several smaller items all delivered to you in one visit for instance)
The level of service you require for our larger items, for example whether you require personal delivery and our set-up/demonstration service on-site, or goods shipped to you via carrier.
If you are a member of our customer loyalty scheme (or wish to know more about it).

We regularly deliver to addresses throughout the whole of North-West England, the Midlands and much of Yorkshire, Wales and Scotland. But if you are based elsewhere in the UK, we can and often do make special personal delivery arrangements or ship to you direct from the manufacturer or from stock, using national carrier services.
