The Gemstone range of wheelchair cushions are designed, developed and made in Britain by an approved NHS Supply Chain manufacturer.

C.S. Ergonomics are an official approved supplier to the general public.

The Gemstone range, fully launched in 2009, has a wheelchair cushion to meet a wide variety of user needs.

To keep things simple for internet purchasers, standard prices apply to a wide range of cushion models and sizes from 15" x 15" up to 20" x 18". All wheelchair cushions are approximately 3" deep except the Little Gem and Coral which are 2" deep.

All of the cushions come with a zipped black waterproof cover,
sealed waterproof liner and non-slip base.

This position helps to prevent forward sliding and the visco provides added protection and improved comfort for lightweight and heavyweight users assessed at high risk. The seated position encourages the user to become immersed into the visco foam thus improving protection, comfort and posture for high risk users. It is covered with a soft pliable visco elastic foam to improve comfort and weight dispersion. The cushion has been designed for use where adduction, abduction and stability are required without compromising seated comfort. It incorporates a unique type of gel and a layer of soft visco-elastic foam on top which insulates the gel so it never feels cold. It is made entirely from a high load bearing yet pliable foam for comfort and stability. Suitable for the more active user. The standard price applies to any size up to and including 18" x 17".
Little Gem - Paediatric £88.00 + UK carriage £8.50 (VAT exemption available)	Low Risk Waterlow: up to 10 Weight Guide: up to 10 stones	The low profile contoured shape cushion with thigh troughs and a pommel to aid adduction. With aeration tunnels to help ventilate heat and moisture, to minimise shear, to assist with postural guidance and to stop a forward slide. The standard price applies to any size up to and including 15" x 15".
Crescent Option £10.00 (VAT exemption available)	Once your wheelchair is fully open, with the seat section pushed down and locked into place, the seat base should be fairly straight, level and stiff. This is usually the case on most modern wheelchairs, which often have an additional seat base tensioning system. Some older, or wider wheelchairs, may still have a pronounced curve or 'sag' in the seat base, even when they are fully open. No one should sit on a wheelchair cushion which is bent into an unnaturally curved shape by an unsupportive seat base. This can be bad for your hips and back. So, to counteract the 'sag' found in some wheelchair seat bases, you can ask for a 'crescent' when ordering our wheelchair cushions. The crescent is a specially-shaped piece of foam, which is glued to the bottom of your wheelchair cushion foam, before a fitted cover is made and put on. Be sure you need a crescent before ordering one as part of your cushion. If you can, ask the advice of a physiotherapist, occupational therapist or wheelchair technician. If you are unsure about ordering a crescent, as a permanent part of your cushion, or you use different wheelchairs now and again, you might prefer to order a separate crescent shape, in its own zipped, wipe-clean cover, to use as and when required. When you order a separate crescent shape you will have to tell us the width (A), depth (B) and height (C) you need (see illustration above).

	All of the above wheelchair cushions come with: a zipped black waterproof Polytran cover (for cleaning: wipe outer cover with hot water and mild detergent, or remove foam blocks and wash cover at 60 C. Briefly tumble dry cover on warm setting only.) an interior lined with a waterproof membrane as standard 12 month warranty against defective manufacture
